This piece was thrown on a wheel. Sodium silicate, mica and oxide coloring was brushed on. It was then stretched on the wheel to create the crackle in the clay. After bisque firing the pot was refired in a propane kiln. When the correct temperature was reached I removed it with tongs and placed it in a reduction container with combustibles. No glaze was used. Pine needles and clay bamboo branch were woven onto the top.
This pottery remains porous after firing and is therefore not suitable for liquids.
